On the hunt for NCIDQ certified SC designers, interested in assisting with advocacy efforts!
IIDA and ASID are working together with a lobbyist group, to help the SC Interior Design Legislation Bill to be passed.
--- What does that mean for SC interior designers?----
* H.5010 is a voluntary title act that protects the professional title Registered Interior Designer. The bill expands the South Carolina Board of Architectural Examiners to include Registered Interior Designers and allows those who register to stamp and sign interior-only drawings within a clearly defined scope of practice.
Participation under this legislation is 100% voluntary. Designers who choose not to pursue registration may continuing practicing as they do today. For those who opt in, the bill provides professional recognition, regulatory clarity, and a permitting pathway aligned with public protection.
This is exciting and GREAT NEWS for all designers in SC.
Interested? Reach out to Susan or your Columbia City Center Directors, with any questions. We would love to chat.
