This architecture firm built this new environment to serve as a living laboratory for testing and exploring new ideas, relationships, and products. Experience zones throughout the space are reminiscent of a playground and reinforce the idea of creativity at play. The work cafe & multi-purpose room, like a sandbox, serves as a meeting place for exchanging ideas and developing concepts and relationships. As this zone supports the collective, not the individual, this architecture firm saw an opportunity to incorporate a bespoke element to celebrate community. The firm partnered with an interior product vendor to design a custom carpet for the multi-Purpose room to include a series of sketches that were submitted and collected by the employees of this architecture firm. The sketches included in the design reflect inspirational travels, design details, portraits as well as Charlotte centric icons & symbols. The style and colors of the carpet were thoughtfully curated to reflect & compliment the finishes throughout the entire office to ensure a seamless design. This design collaboration allowed this Community Sketchbook to come to life!
